Jeremy Koering: Where Do We Go From Here was by far your guys’ best stuff, how do you think the new album will compare? Have you taken any different routes than WDWGFH?

Kalel: The jump between Fireproof and Where Do We Go From Here was a big one. The jump between Where Do We Go From Here and this new album will be just as big. The new album blows Where Do We Go From Here away. We were just finding our sound with Where Do We Go From Here and on this new record we nailed it. We really expanded ourselves with this new music.

Jeremy Koering: So you guys are in studio right now, how is the new album coming? What is your target release date?

Kalel: The new record sounds amazing. It’s definitely our best yet. We hope to have it out this summer.

Jeremy Koering: Any great moments from home, the studio or touring that you have to share?

Kalel: The big news is that my wife is pregnant with our second which is due this July. Our drummer Lester is also due in June.

Jeremy Koering: You guys have a big tour coming up with POD headlining, what are your goals for this tour?

Kalel: Our goal is simply to rock as hard as we can. We also hope to introduce Pillar to lots of new people and showcase a few new songs from the upcoming album.

Jeremy Koering: Why did you guys chose Pillar as a band name?

Kalel: Because we thought it sounded cool.

Jeremy Koering: Do you have a song from WDWGFH that means a lot to you guys?

Kalel: They all mean something to me. Right now I am digging “Frontline” because it’s firing up so many people to be on the frontlines of ministry and actually step out of their comfort zone to reach people.

Jeremy Koering: I really like the song "Rewind" from WDWGFH what inspired you guys to write it?

Kalel: Rob wrote the lyrics for this, but I can guess. We all make mistakes and wish we could go back and undo the wrong that we did.

Jeremy Koering: What’s your favorite venue, city or place to play at?

Kalel: Wherever there is an energetic crowd.

Jeremy Koering: What do you like to do outside of music?

Kalel: I like to spend time with my family, work out, read books, and watch movies.
