Ariel Body of Music Faith: Your album "Live Like We're Alive" released last year, do you guys have a favourite song from the album?

AJ Cheek: Yeah, I think we all have different ones.

Brad Jones: They change

AJ Cheek: Bro, what's yours?

Adam Rowe: I think my favourite now, is probably Lover. Just like musically it kind of builds to a really kind of climactic end, also its kind of like a worship song, it's nice break during our show. It talks about God, and yeah.

Josh Pearson: Yeah, that's mine too.

AJ Cheek: Lover. I was like, "I think we all like different ones..." *laughs*

Adam Rowe: All of us, Lover!

Ariel Body: Can you tell me a little about the meaning behind the song "Time"?

Josh Pearson: Time is written from the perspective of someone in a relationship who needs to let it go. I think sometimes God tells us to do things, and tells us really clearly. Other times it takes a while to figure it out and it takes a lot of time before we see that its not good for us and that it's is something we shouldn't be a part of, and I think all of us have been at the place where we've been in a relationship that's not good or not healthy and we've carried it on and carried it on, but you know eventually, you just have to let it go.

AJ Cheek: It's pretty much the person talking to a girl or a guy sayign that they have been dragging it on, you know. The verse is "taking your time, all we ever had was time, so now this is the last time." Brad's wanting me to stop. *laughs* He put his hand on my shoulder; that's classic.

Ariel Body: I hear there's a new album in the works?

Josh Pearson: Yeah, we've been writing a lot. We'll probably going to go into the studio this winter and I think it will come out sometime in the beginning of '08. There's a couple of songs that are finished, but for the most part, their like half pieces of songs. But, yeah, it's in the works.

Ariel Body: Yeah, I was going to say, is there any theme that has emerged with the songs?

Josh Pearson: Not yet. Not at this point I don't think. We're using a lot more piano.

AJ Cheek: It's going to be, still guitar driven and fast and energetic but more kind of piano pop kind of cool stuff. You know, stuff like that.

Ariel Body: What is your all time favourite experience or memory as a band so far?

Adam Rowe: Oh gosh, that's a big question. Umm...

AJ Cheek: I had one...

Adam Wann: As a whole band?

Brad Jones: We treated ourselves to a nice little Christmas present in Chicago. We had a show in Wisconsin and the next was over in NJ and we had like 2 or 3 days off in between. So as we were in commute we kind of stopped in at Chicago and it was kind of a splurge, it was kind of like our Christmas present to ourselves. We got like a nice hotel for ourselves down on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, I think it was for like 2 nights and 3 days or something like that and went shopping and stuff.

AJ Cheek: We were supposed to get a deal on the rooms. A family and friend discount, but uh, it didn't happen. So... yeah.

Brad Jones: We paid a lot more than we thought.

AJ Cheek: It was one of those things where we knew we spent so much money afterwards that we just didn't talk about it for a long time until like a couple months later we were like uhhh...

Josh Pearson: We kind of choose to forget it.

Ariel Body: Was it worth it?

Josh Pearson: I think it was worth it.

AJ Cheek: It really was man, we needed it

Adam Rowe: Even like, psychologically

Brad Jones: Yeah it was good for the moral. *laughs*

AJ Cheek: Yeah good for the moral.

Josh Pearson: It was good.

Ariel Body: What's one song you wish you'd written?

AJ Cheek: Oh um, shoot.

Adam Rowe: Move Along.

AJ Cheek: Move Along by Rejects.

Josh Pearson: Yeah

AJ Cheek: Can't Stop Loving You by Phil Collins.

Brad Jones: Yeah, that's a nice one.

AJ Cheek: Definitely. I Wish I wrote that song. *sings*

Josh Pearson: There's lots of songs out there I wish I'd written. It's hard to pick one.

Brad Jones: Toby Mac's, um...

Adam Rowe: *sings* "I was made to love you...."

AJ Cheek: That's a great song dude. That is hit hard on radio.

Brad Jones: Yeah, it's been a very successful song, and that's all I'm gonna say.

Ariel Body: I read somewhere that you guys are fans of Zoolander... how do you feel about Orange Mocha Frappuccinos?

Josh Pearson: I don't know, man.

Adam Rowe: I don't care for those, really, but I like watching them talk about 'em.

AJ Cheek: Oh Snap!

Josh Pearson: Zoolander's awesome. That movie actually brought my fiance and i together.

AJ Cheek: Office is better, The Office.

Brad Jones: It's really cool, actually if you go to hot topic right now they have 2 or 3 um Zoolander t-shirts which is really weird. They have one that I want that's the uh Derek Zoolander school for uh...

Adam Rowe: Center for people who can't read good.

Brad Jones: Yeah.

Josh Pearson: That's one I'm gettin'!

Ariel Body: Mac or PC?

Josh Pearson: PC

AJ Cheek: Mac

Adam Wann: Mac

Brad Jones: Mac

Adam Rowe: Since it's 2 to 1, I'm gonna say PC.

AJ Cheek: Oh, it's so Mac!

Brad Jones: it depends on whether it's a desktop or laptop actually to tell you the truth, for me. I Like Mac laptops and stuff. I'm a computer nerd.

Josh Pearson: I'm going with a Pac.

AJ Cheek: I'm going with a Pac too.

Josh Pearson: The Pac's pretty cool. The Mac monitor with the PC mother "ship". *laughs*

AJ Cheek: *laughs* Pc Mothership.

Brad Jones: Yeah, Mac's good for the music stuff but I'm a nerd so I like PC.

AJ Cheek: Mac's are good for creative stuff.

Josh Pearson: PC is good for Solitaire and Word documents.
*laughs*

Ariel Body: What's currently playing in your CD player or iPod?

AJ Cheek: Ooh easy, Paramore.

Josh Pearson: Paramore.

Brad Jones: The new Paramore album.

AJ Cheek: Get it. Buy it.

AJ Cheek: And the Rocket Summer EP.

Josh Pearson: They have a new EP out.

AJ Cheek: It's pretty good.

Ariel Body: What is the weirdest question you've ever been asked?

Brad Jones: This one. No, I'm kidding.

AJ Cheek: We've had a weird one man.

Josh Pearson: I did a radio interview and it was like and this or this, like I had to pick one, and I had Kevin Federline or Brittany Spears and then after that I had boxers or briefs. On the air!

AJ Cheek: What'd you choose?

Josh Pearson: I told 'em boxers.

AJ Cheek: of course

Adam Rowe: We got asked what National Monument we'd prefer to lick.

Brad Jones: And where.

Josh Pearson: Yeah, I remember that. Where was that?

Adam Rowe: At a youth camp.

Brad Jones: It was a middle school youth camp and they did a Q&A session with the middle school kids. It was actually really fun. We did two sessions where the kids would ask just random questions

Josh Pearson: That one was funny because it was the President of CCM magazine.

AJ Cheek: No it wasn't!

Brad Jones: His, no his was. Not the monument one.

Josh Pearson: No, no, the monument one.

AJ Cheek: No it wasn't, man! Don't say that, it was not the president of CCM! *laughs*

Josh Pearson: Nah, I'm just kidding. It was like a 7th grader actually.

AJ Cheek: Man, we're burning bridges...

Ariel Body: What are your favourite books?

Josh Pearson: I'm down with anything Francis Schaeffer writes.

AJ Cheek: Mine would still be Wild At Heart. John Eldridge, I love John Eldridge. He does a lot - Journey of the Desire - he's really good man. Wild At Heart is a great book. We have it on audio, so I read it like a year and a half ago and it got so popular, and everybody loves it, so it's like the cliche thing to say but man, it's a great book! And then I listened to it, we were doing a long drive and I listened to the whole book again; it's great.

Josh Pearson: Hemmingway. Earnest Hemmingway's cool.

AJ Cheek: My boy Seuss.

Brad Jones: Yeah, Dr. Seuss, he's good.

Josh Pearson: Dr. Seuss is the man!

Ariel Body: Is there anything else you'd like to add?

AJ Cheek: It's hot in Arizona, but we love it!

Josh Pearson: Yeah, very hot!

Brad Jones: Yeah, that's a good fact Josh brought up yesterday at one of the shows. The last time we were in Arizona for a show, it was like the coldest day Arizona had had in the past like 20 years. Like it literally was like a record breaking coldest day. It was like, 48 or something at night.

Adam Rowe: Castles N' Coasters.

Brad Jones: Yeah, RAGE Fest. It was the coldest day in Phoenix, not in Arizona, the coldest day in Phoenix in like the past 20 years. And then, so as we were flying in yesterday, Josh said he heard a guy at the airport or whatever, he was like "Yeah, today's like the hottest day we've had..." And we're like, oh great! We go from the coldest to the hottest! It was like 112 or something ridiculous like that!

AJ Cheek: That's a little fact we can leave with you.
