Word/Curb artist Building 429 is back with a new release a new sound and great music! Building 429 took home the Dove award for new artist of the year in 2005, and after this release they deserve it more than ever! They’ve been on tour with some of the biggest names in the Christian market like Casting Crowns.
Jason Roy’s trademark vocals have gotten so much better. They match the music, and were recorded really well. The lyrics in this album are well written, they all connect with each other, without leaving big gaps here and there. Michael Tait (DC Talk) helped out on a great rock song called “Empty” which is my favorite.
Building 429 did change a little going with a plain rock style, definitely different than, Space in Between Us. I think the change is for the better, the vocals, lyrics, and music just seem to match a lot better. I like how they mix into some of the songs, a piano with electric guitars. Volume levels of instruments are good nothing too loud, or quiet. This album was well mastered and produced.
Overall if you liked Space in Between Us then you’ll like Rise though it’s a little different I think you’ll like it. If you’re looking for something good and have never heard of Building 429 I encourage you to check out Rise. You may even want to check them out if their headline tour is coming to a town near you.
